Can you wash leather?

I have leather steel toe boots, that have motor oil "soaked" into them, is their any hope of cleaning them?

Can you wash leather?
You can't do it in the machine, but check out this link for how.
Reply:take them to a professional. do not attempt to do this yourself. and the sooner the better.
Reply:take them to a shoe repair shop or maybe a car detail shop, some where that specialises in leather you know? if there is any hope the cleaners might be able to help but if the oil is soaked in then they might just be a lost cause
Reply:Try saddle soap...a leather cleaner...available most anywhere...Maybe a degreaser...but use it on a small part of the boot first to make sure no permanent damage.
Reply:NO!! you can only steam it like at the dry cleaners
Reply:To those who said you cannot wash leather:

Ever hear of cows standing in the rain?

SURE, you can wash leather!

(Can't believe that you guys told her otherwise!)

Best of Luck!
