Boots in dreams?

In my dream last night I was looking at a pair of (patent leather) red and white boots on a street vendors table. . I thought they were too "showy" and i put them back, even though I liked them. Then I saw a pair of brown leather booths and I thought they will be perfect, but when I picked them up, I realized that one side of the leg was way too wide for me to fit. (The other would have been perfect.) So I put those back, too and walked away. The boots were brand new. I wasn't looking to buy boots in the dream, I just happened on them... Can anybody give me some ideas please? I've been working with my dreams for years, and i usuallly figure them out eventually. I just thought I ask.... Thanks.

Boots in dreams?
Boots symbolize forward movement in life to me, as they cover the feet which take you forward. Your subconscious is telling you a message that the way you used to pick things in the past no longer suites you - you used to go for the standard brown boots, but you have outgrown them as shown by one of your legs being too big.

You need to do something creative and innovative for the rest of your life, as symbolized by the red and white boots: white is the symbol of purity and innocence, and red is passion. Make life choices that follow your passion and you will be fine. Follow your heart.
Reply:um...sounds to me like...hmm, like you think you can do something, but when you look at it from another perspective you lose faith in yourself. So I guess it's like "if the shoe fits wear it" but if one shoe fits and the other doesn't, don't worry about either...

another idea I have is that it means, you're conscious that you don't finish things, you only get them half way done.
Reply:This dream is talking about your love life ; there something who had disappointed you ; and you still ask yourself questions about ; what should have done differently
Reply:Hi, Erchnic.

Boots must first be seen as clothing -- how we approach and present ourselves in some aspect of our lives (the dream's subject. Public persona, you could say.

I sometimes see the combination of black, white and red in clothing in women's dreams, but not men's. And I do think it is a very bold statement.

Brown is a natural color.

So I'll suggest the boots have to do with you making a decision about how you will approach, or present yourself, in some aspect of your life.

You had initially chosen to be more natural, easy-going. Nevertheless, boots are sturdier than shoes in general.

The boot that doesn't fit relates to "filling shoes", meaning you feel you have some growing (experience, maturation, skill) to do before you can fill that boot.

Which boot? The left side is generally regarded as relating to feminine qualities, having to do with nurturing, mediation, compassion, giving, mothering, intuition, emotional motivation, etc. The right side is generally related to masculine qualities, such as self-assertion, the ability to sever one thing from another, individuality, rational decision-making, etc.

The fact you weren't out shopping implies something just happened into your life -- an opportunity, perhaps, but not something you have to commit to at this time.

Walking away means a decision is not final, and it may be because you either have to grow into whatever the boots relate to, or you've decided you'll simply pass on the opportunity.
