I'm part of an old west re-enactment group that stages various shows and shootouts. I'm looking for some good quality black dyed leather that I can tool into some cuffs to keep my duster from getting hung up on my pistols. It has to be thick, smooth and well treated - stiff yet workable (think boot leather), and not brittle. Where's a good place to look? I'm trying to find something before a show we're doing in two weeks, so an online source would be ideal.
Where can I buy or order two pieces of black leather hide about 3/16" thick and about 12" x 12" wide?
i bought some leather off of e-bay a few years ago. another idea might be to go to your local goodwill or thrift store and look for a leather coat. it should be fairly inexpensive and you can cut it up and use the leather.
good luck and have fun.
