If you were going to a leather bar, how much would you say a fair price for a shoe shine is?

i'm going to a leather bar this weekend and i'm told they have a pretty sexy boot black. how much can i reasonably expect to be charged and how much should i tip?

Been awhile since I've done that, lucky you. Ten bucks sounds right. Tip 2 or so.
Reply:To begin with, you would not wear shoes to a leather bar, you would wear boots.

Depending on the size of the boot (ankle? calf? thigh?) expect to pay around $10.

Of course, I realize this may be inflated SF prices . . . :o}
Reply:Just ask the price! I would imagine there is a price list posted somewhere also.I would also think $10 is fine or $20 including tip.It all depends on how large a boots you are going to get shined,short dress boots,like dress shoes,$10 is fine and a $5 tip.Knee high boots then $20 each..plus tip=$50.You decide,as tipping is in the eye of the beholder.
