How do you remove skunk odor from leather?

My dog decided to kill a skunk this weekend, and got THOROUGHLY sprayed. I washed him with the prescribed hydrogen peroxide/baking soda formula that's all over the internet, and he smells fine now, but I don't know what to do about his collar. Of course it has to be his designer leather one, and the one we got for his first birthday 12 years ago to boot. I don't want to throw it away, but am afraid hydrogen peroxide will damage it. Anyone have any experience with skunked leather? And please, no tomato juice recipes, I'm fully aware that those don't work except to mask it. I don't want a tomato-smelling dog.

just use baking soda, water and the right amount of time
Reply:We had a similar experience %26amp; we used fresh lemon squeezed the lemon juice into a microfiber cloth %26amp; rub the entire collar took a few times but it worked its lots of rubbing .

Good Luck
Reply:Try tomato juice and lemon..
