How do i fix scuffed boots?

I recently bought a $200 pair of boots and have worn them twice. The are dark brown and i have scuffed the tips of them and they are white now. What is the best way to fix them. Should i have applied some type of leather protector first? Am very bummed as they are great boots and i feel i have wrecked them now.

How do i fix scuffed boots?
Get shoe polish and try to fix it. if that doesn't work, (this is going to sound so cheap, but it works for me), get a dark brown marker. Color in the marks, let them dry. Then put more shoe polish on it. make sure you start putting leather protector on it so you can save the remains.
Reply:Don't try to fix this yourself. Take them to a good shoe repair shop. They have dyes and other methods to fix this. You'll be amazed at how good a job they can do with this, and it won't cost you all that much to have it fixed.

I don't know if any kind of protector will really work. Ask the shoe repair guy.
Reply:go to shoe repair store
Reply:shoe polish
Reply:Get some mink oil .Usually is displayed around shoe polish in the store. Put some on area with old toothbrush. Then buff the tar out of it. You will be amazed and it will also protect boots from more scuffs
