Can I wear an eggplant purple dress with dark brown boots?

and a rose-coloured scarf. I'm saving up to buy a pair of black boots. Could I get away with brown leather heels if, say, I wore gold earrings. I have dark brown hair, and pale skin

Yes brown and eggplant go together , just loose the rose scarf, it'll be too much color. The gold earings will go perfectly too.

You should always stick to one or two color families in outfits, no more. A good Idea for the black boots and scarf, would be to find some great jeans and a black top.
